All municipal garbage is handled through the Central Transfer Station in Moreland.

The County has plans to work with Logite International, Inc. , a company out of Sandy, Utah, who will build a steam reformer plant near the Central Transfer Station.  The steam reformer will use the County’s waste to produce bio fuel.  The technology is a promising step toward a resolution to the energy crisis and lack of land available for landfills. The Central Transfer Station is a Tier 1 and Tier 2 landfill and can accept the following:

(Containers having contained a liquid are not accepted).

This is a general list. Specific items may not qualify. If items are going to rot, leach or blow, they are not accepted. Contaminated loads will be considered household waste.

The following items are accepted at no charge at all 3 locations:

Batteries, freezers/refrigerators, stoves, tires without rims, tree limbs, and residential grass clippings.

Dead animals are accepted at Rattlesnake Transfer Site ONLY.

There are wallet size cards available with the above information. These can be picked up at all 3 sites and at the Road and Bridge Office.

All loads must be covered. Loads not covered will pay an additional $10 charge.
