The Bingham County Communications Center is currently staffed with eleven full time dispatchers.  The Communication Center serves as a support entity for dispatching personnel for the  Bingham County Sheriff's Office, Blackfoot Police Department, Shelley Police Department, Blackfoot Fire/Ambulance, Shelley Fire Department, Shelley Quick Response and the Firth Fire Department.

The Communications Center is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Blackfoot and the surrounding communities within Bingham County.  The Communications Center has the responsibility to staff and answer, on a 24-hour basis, the telephones and radios upon which calls for service are received.  This includes 911 emergency calls (police, fire and EMT's.)  Whether you call 911 or the non-emergency line (208)785-1234, you will speak with a highly trained dispatcher.
