BINGHAM COUNTY DETENTION GUIDELINES:

This facility has a privately owned inmate phone system for inmate use. At least one phone is in each pod area and the commons area of booking. These telephones allow the general population of the jail to make phone calls and the conversation may be recorded. The use of this system is a privilege, therefore, under disciplinary action, an inmate may be prevented from making any phone calls. All calls made on these phones are made using a phone card or are collect calls. To avoid paying for collect calls, inmates have the option of purchasing phone cards on commissary.
1. Length of call: The phone system has an automatic cut off
built into it. After fifteen (15) minutes the call will be
disconnected.
2. Number of calls placed by an inmate: There is no set
number of calls an inmate may place.
3. Abusive language/Abuse of the system: Any abuse of this
system or use of abusive language while using the system
is prohibited and appropriate disciplinary action will be
taken.
4. Hours that calls can be made from pod phones are
between 5:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., unless restricted by jail
staff. An automatic shut-off is built into the phone system
so that phone calls cannot be made before or after set
time.
5. Incoming calls to inmates: Inmates may not receive
phone calls while incarcerated in this facility.
Cash payments for bonds or fines will be accepted at any time. Please be sure to call first to verify the exact amount needed as the jail is not able to make change.

All mail received by this facility for an inmate is subject to being opened and screened by on-duty officers.
1. When an inmate is no longer in this facility the letter will be
RETURNED TO SENDER.
2. The inmate may receive books and newspapers (of
non-pornographic nature including nudity of tattooing) if sent
directly from the publisher through U.S. Mail only. Books may
only be paperback and have no staples. All books (except
bibles) will be donated to the library upon the inmate's release.
3. The mailing address for an inmate in this facility is:
"Inmate's Name"
501 N. Maple Box 408
Blackfoot, Idaho 83221
4. The inmate's return address will be clearly written in the upper
left-hand corner of the envelope.
5. Mail from inmates within this facility or in any other detention
facility is generally prohibited.
6. Stamped envelopes are available for sale on commissary
and may be purchased by inmates. Since envelopes are
available on commissary they may not be sent through the
mail, nor any other items that are available on commissary.
7. Indigent mail: If an inmate does not have funds available to
purchase stamps and envelopes he may order a writing packet
from commissary.
8. Mail is delivered to the courthouse Monday through Friday. No
mail is delivered on Federal or State holidays or on weekends.
9. Outgoing mail will be given to the officer un-sealed and will be
screened for security reasons.
10. Inmates may receive three (3) pictures, that are not Polaroid's,
in the mail.
Monies Received: Monies may be received for an inmate from family or friends at visiting, through the mail, or at any time during regular courthouse business hours and will be entered in the inmate's commissary account. A receipt will be given to the inmate to notify them that money has been placed on their account.
